KAMRAN SALIANI (HE/HIM): RESIDENT ACTOR, FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Born and raised in Irvington, Kamran has returned to his roots to establish Rivertowns Playhouse (RTP), infusing his home community with high-quality, professional theater. As the Executive Artistic Director and main Resident Actor of RTP, Kamran oversees all artistic and executive decisions, playing a pivotal role in each production and serving as the primary point of contact at all events.
Kamran's journey in the arts is deeply intertwined with his Iranian-Italian-American heritage and his upbringing in Irvington. A proud product of the Irvington Public School System and a 2012 graduate of Irvington High School, Kamran was recognized early for his theatrical talents, receiving the IHS Drama Award and the Bulldog Award of “Most Likely to Appear on American Idol.” His passion for acting led him to the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned a B.F.A in Acting.
With a repertoire that spans over 60 productions in film and theater, Kamran's versatility as an actor is evident. His notable roles include Algernon in "The Importance of Being Ernest," Pericles in "Pericles, Prince of Tyre," Friar Lawrence in "Romeo & Juliet," Malvolio in "Twelfth Night," and Dumaine in "Love’s Labour’s Lost." Kamran's exceptional talent was recognized by Sir Ian McKellen, who entrusted him with reviving the show “Acting Shakespeare” in Westchester, a testament to Kamran’s prowess as an actor.
Kamran’s efforts and talent have not gone unnoticed. In 2023, he was honored with the prestigious Under-35 Class of Westchester Wunderkind Award. Further acclaim includes being a finalist for Best Artist in the Best of Westchester 2023 and receiving nominations for his work in 2022, including Best Performer in a Play, Best Supporting Performer in a Play, Best Ensemble in a Play, and Best Play in the Broadway World Regional Awards: Rockland/Westchester.
Kamran's vision for RTP is not just about staging plays; it's about building a community through accessible, professional theater. His leadership at RTP reflects a commitment to bringing high-caliber performances to Irvington and the Rivertowns, creating a space where stories are not just told but experienced.
