James beamer (HE/HIM): Summer creative bts intern

James is our creative intern who spent his early years in the suburbs of Chicago, before moving to Dobbs Ferry, New York in 2015.  Soon after arriving in New York, James read a transformative book that inspired him to put his imagination to work and make the ink-tipped feather meet the parchment, using his creativity to compose a variety of works, from short stories to an extensive online series. 

James is currently a student at Adelphi University, majoring in Communications with a concentration in Journalism.  His course load has allowed him to explore a wide range of media outlets.  In addition to writing, he is an experienced drone operator and has made several short films using drones to catch unique and cinematic aerial footage which gives a dramatic effect and emotional perspective to his work.  

In addition to writing and filming, James is passionate about cars and hopes to one day write for an automotive magazine.

James’ determination and passion for composing written and visual stories remain unwavering and he is eager to use his creativity to capture engaging behind-the-scenes moments at Rivertown’s Playhouse.
